THE SPIRIT OF Fear
SERMON STARTER
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
1 John 4:18

In this time of National Fear and Horrific Calamity people of faith are turning to God as their refuge. Like Egypt of old, every false idol and every false God is being destroyed by the Lord. We love our seacoast properties and beaches: God has devastated them. We love our Western forests and woodlands. Wildfires and Divine winds have decimated them.
The Lord is speaking in His still small voice through these disasters. Pray that as a nation we will once again be able to hear God's still, small voice. Materialism and the love of money has given us a spiritual deafness. God is speaking through the wind, hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires. Do you hear what He is saying?
He's telling us to give up this self sufficient attitude that hardens our hearts and distances us from God. The national pride and arrogance keeps us shaking our fists at the heavens and rebuilding our structures without rebuilding our hearts and minds. We need some healthy repentance on the personal level.
You talk about the fear of God? You will either fear Him or love Him. His love in you has the capacity to cast out life's fear.
God is on the move. The cloud by day and the fire by night is moving. Are you moving with Him?

C. Grace Easley's Poem, The Holy Spirit
"He took the shapeless pieces Of my life and made them whole,
And with exquisite tenderness, He sanctified my soul.
He burned into my senses all He wished for me to be,
And took the perfume of His love And poured it over me.
          And I have come to know Him In a way I can't explain;
He is my dear companion Down this road I have begun,
At whose ending I will find ...The Father and the Son!

command I have received from My Father."
                    2. Dun-a-mis - Explosive Power operating from the inside out
                                    a. Power to Witness - Acts 1:8
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come
upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem,

THE SPIRIT OF FEAR
Isaiah 41:10-13 (NKJV)
10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'
11 "Behold, all those who were incensed against you Shall be ashamed and disgraced; They shall be as nothing, And those who strive with you shall perish.
12 You shall seek them and not find them-- Those who contended with you. Those who war against you Shall be as nothing, As a nonexistent thing.
13 For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.'
