Jesus IS LORD!SERMON STARTER I've prayed with men of several nations and heard the word, "Lord," in many languages. In one of our Harvest Network, International Conferences we held a special International Missions session with men and women of many nations. I heard the name "Lord" cried out in fervent prayer by African believers using the term, "Bwanna." I heard Latinos ardently calling out in supplication, "Senior!" I heard Messianic believers call out to Jesus with the term, "Adonoy!" One South American Charismatic pastor, Juan Carlos Ortez, became weary from listening to people overusing the word, "Senior," when praying to God. They used the word so frequently it became a cliché. (A meaningless term.) He declared a moratorium on the word for one month. He forbade his congregation from using the term when applied to God at their church, homes or workplaces. He said, "You may not use the term, "Senior" when applied to Jesus until you learn HOW to make Him Lord of your life!" For his congregation it became a "transformational event." Afterwards, the pastor and his congregation used the term more reverently. When considering the awesome price that has been paid for our sins, is there anything else that we can do, but rejoice this Easter! We rejoice in God's free gift of salvation freely to we who are so unworthy! Jesus, truly is Lord! He is the King of all Kings and the Lord of all Lords! Hallelujah! Pastor Phil <><<

JESUS IS LORD! I. HE IS LORD OVER THE EARTH A. The Greek word for "World" is "COS-MOS" 1. Cosmos refers to the order of the earth a. Seasons progress year after year in orderly manner b. Eg. Spring follows Winter, Summer follows Spring 2. The Earth spins and circles the Sun predictably 3. He is Lord over Earthquakes and all Calamity - 2 Sam. 22:8 "Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations of heaven quaked and were shaken, Because He was angry." B. Jesus is Lord over all the Earth - 1 Cor. 10:26 "For "the earth is the LORD'S, and all its fullness." 1. Wild Animals are His / all Cattle are ultimately His - Ps. 50:10 "For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills." 2. The Physical Universe is made by Him and Submitted to Him "Let the rivers clap their hands; Let the hills be joyful together before the LORD, 9 For He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness He shall judge the world, And the peoples with equity." Psalm 98:8-9
II. JESUS IS LORD OVER THE HEAVENS - Isaiah 45:6-7 "That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting That there is none besides Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other; 7 I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the LORD, do all these things.'

Jesus is the Sovereign Lord - Psalm 57:11 C. John the Beloved's Eyewitness Testimony - John 3:31 "He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all." 1. Jesus is Lord of All and Above All 2. We bow only to Him and call Him Lord!
III. JESUS IS LORD OVER MANKIND A. Mankind are also part of the Cosmos / World Order B. Convicting Questions 1. Is He Lord over Politics? 2. Is He Lord over the Environment? 3. Is He Lord over Global Warming? 4. Is He Lord over Iran and the Middle East? 5. Is He Lord over North Korea? C. Personal, Meddling Questions, "Is He Lord over my Finances?" 1. Convicting Obsessions about Money a. Well-Intentioned "Do-Gooders" b. Lady told me recently, "When I become independently wealthy, I'll. . ." c. "I'll help feed the hungry. . ." d. "I'll bring healing services to the less fortunate. . ." D. Is He Lord over your Vocational Life? 1. Are you missing a sense of Peace and Purpose on the Job? 2. Does what you do for a living meet a need in Mankind? E. Is He Lord over your Family Life? 1. If He isn't, WHO is Lord over your Family Life? 2. If He isn't, WHAT is Lord over your Family Life? F. Is He Lord over your Thought Life? Psalm 63:6 "When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches." 1. David Loves the Lord and is Constant Communion w/Him 2. In the Thought Life Down-Time, He thinks of the Lord 3. If He isn't, Purge you Thoughts with the Four "R's" a. Recognize the Source of the Thought b. Refuse what isn't of the Lord c. Replace with Clean Wholesome Thoughts

IV. JESUS IS LORD OVER LIFE - 1 John 5:11-13 "And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. A. Greek Language has Two Terms for Life 1. "Bi-os" as in Biological Life 2. "Zo-wein" as in Eternal Life "Literally, 'The Life of God eternal unto the ages'" 3. In this passage, "Zo-wein" is used B. Only God holds the Power over Life and Death 1. Doctors cannot keep us from losing our physical lives 2. Family Doctor Quote, "Phil, You know we're only putting off the inevitable!" 3. Biological Life is short-term and cannot be counted on C.
V. JESUS IS LORD OVER DEATH - John 11:25-26 "Jesus said to her (Martha), "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; 26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" A. Lazarus' Resurrection established Jesus' Supremacy over Death B. Jesus' Resurrection was the Capstone of His Lordship over us 1. Mankind lives their lives in the Shadow of the Fear of Death 2. Jesus' Power over Death, Hell and the Grave Gives Hope C. Have You Trusted Him with Your Life and Your Death? D. Is He Your Lord? Eg. Count Zinzendorf testimony C. Chorus: "He Is Lord!"
